Somebody, nobody, anyone, are indefinite personal pronouns that are used to replace an indeterminate subject, referring to people in an imprecise way.
Somebody, nobody, anyone, is the title of an exhibition that consists of different works from the Junta de vecinos (Neighborhood Meeting) series.
From 2012 to nowadays, this series has used as compositive and reiterative elements, pieces of paint taken from the facades of houses and commercial establishments in the central area of the Santiago city in Chile. It is an abstraction exercise that accounts for the colours and materials found in the city centre’s frontages. In each version of the installation, the fragments have been distributed into a grid, making an allusion to the hypodamic outline applied to downtown Santiago: a traditional ubanism model that organizes the city through streets in straight angles and, therefore, in blocks.
In turn, Neighborhood Meeting, is a title that also works as a metaphor for the communal organization, for individuals that are not taken into account until they manifest themselves as a collective.
